From my hands to yours...

Williamboy Guitars are built by Hand. We can't imagine another way to build a musical instrument. Automated and computerized machinery (robots) by definition can only make copies. What good is a copy when you can have the real thing?! Each williamboy Guitar is a unique piece of functional art.

Williamboy guitars are results of years in sound research. Our instruments construction follows a very selective rule in the timbers favour. This aspect considers two elements: Timber type combination. Seasoning. These  requirements, guarantees the best tonal balance. The latter has a great influence on the final sonority: the longer the seasoning the more “open” and “loud” the instrument. We use only very seasoned timbers without forced drying processes and we take a great effort in researching and recycling. We use mohagany, vinhatico  maple, Pau marfin ,  Ipe , Peroba ,  purple heart, pao ferro, , ebony and Brazilian  rosewood. Various instruments benefit the typical industry process of precision (in the cut, calibration, painting etc.) but suffer the stress of the prime material through the carving phases: high temperatures can be reached by the machineries’ speed and friction and  some timber cells can be burned, which compromises the results of sonority. Certain instruments can be very beautiful in appearance but have amorphous sound and poor harmonics, in other words, lifeless.

In 1998 william had an SG model guitar which needed a refret but he did not find anyone capable of doing the work so he decided to do it himself , he still plays that guitar today .....

William  started building his first instrument in  march 2007  with Mark bailey from Scotland UK  who is an  " "Extraordinary Luthier ".  after that  He continued gaining even more experience by repairing and customizing friends instruments and then, by the end of the same year after reading and studying lots of books about guitar making he  started a small production at Williamboy guitars located in the southeast of Brazil . The objective today is to build  unique instruments ,  with a great sound. All instruments at Williamboy guitars are extremely functional, ergonomic, lightweight and easy to play. In the construction of an instrument all facets of the final design and the attention to detail is taken into account. The interaction between combinations of timber, mechanical parts and pickups are always balanced with each other’s experience. Constant focus is given to the improvement of each instrument.
